New Country Rose ruffle dress

As the school holidays come to an end, I have released my first dress for the new year.  And from the initial interest it's one that you may like!

Once I work through all the current orders, I will make a number of fabric variations in the same style.  Keep an eye out instore or come visit me at the next Handmade Craft Market on Feb 19 to see the new releases.

flower girl & communion dresses

i love creating dresses for special occasions.  Weddings, birthdays, communions, even family portraits are incredibly special events deserving of extra special outfits.  Actually, Little Tee Tee evolved when I was searching for something for my daughters to wear for a family portrait session.  I had a clear picture of what I wanted - something understated, in soft tones, with a hint of vintage charm.  After not finding anything 'just right' I created these two little dresses ... & my business was created soon after!

Ever since, I have loved dressing little girls for their special occasions.  Some are custom designed dresses, other are bought from creations I have made & listed in store (http://littleteetee.com/).

Here are a few of my gorgeous clients at their special events:

I have two flower girl dresses on the cutting table right now.  They're a custom order for a wedding in January - lots of tulle (over 3mtrs each!) & pearl & diamonte details which will be a first for me.  Oh I love the challenge!

I'm closing my custom orders now due to the Christmas break but I have a few dresses in store if you are after a last minute outfit!  But be quick ... Little Tee Tee will be closed for 3 weeks from the 9th to the 30th December.

spring time!

spring sprung up on me a little quickly this year ... & I'm excited!  Not long now until the sunshine hours lengthen and we can take advantage of the beach being within a hop, skip & a jump.

I drive past Terrigal beach each morning & afternoon on the school run & I am constantly in awe of the changing colours of the ocean.  I've taken inspiration from the bright blue sea & the yellow sand for my next creation.

Available in my esty store shortly.  HERE

New Little Tee Tee dress & favourite handmade finds

I have been remiss in blogging of late - sorry!  Life sometimes gulfs you up with little chance of finding time to do fun things like a blog.  So in the past month my hubby & I went for a child-free week in LA, I was a stallholder at a GREAT market (Erina Handmade Market), & I've been busy with some gorgeous custom orders.

My fabric shopping in the US uncovered some real gems to be made into sweet little dresses.  Here's one of them ...

Of course, I had to scour the handmade community for a collage of creations which I feel ties into my design.  A touch of yesteryear in shades of latte ...

Unfortunately my computer restarted itself before I could save all the designers names so I'm off now to track them down & will let you know asap. Feel free to post if you know who they are!

new dresses

I dipped into my newly found lace stash & pretty materials & created these two new dresses.  You like?

I'm thinking I'll make the lace dress on the right in a size to fit me - I love it so much!

lace

Ever walk into a lolly store & feel so overwhelmed with all the goodies on display that your mind just goes into overdrive?  Well, that was me yesterday when I visited an especially beautiful lace & fabric store in Sydney.

There were walls & walls & walls of colour-sorted laces in shades so divine it made my head spin.  This lace was so good I felt I could eat it (thus the photo in my beautiful tea set which was a recent present).

After flitting from one case to the next, & then back again, I calmed my beating heart just a little bit so I could choose a few favourites to add to my collection.

Thanks to Pitt Trading I now have an enviable stash of laces in shades of mocha, latte, cream & white (yep, love my coffee!).

Off to sew ...

NEW - ivory & lace flower girl dress

Oh so quiet from me of late but for good reason!  I've had quite a number of custom orders to work with plus one big wholesale order on the go.  Can't wait to share the details on them all - especially a turquoise feathered flower girl dress which is proving loads of fun!  Plus I threw hubby a surprise birthday party and have been preparing my eldest daughters party for tomorrow night. Busy busy busy ... and loving it.

Loving the sunny (but cold) days too. So much so that I procrastinated making the birthday cake by visiting our beach with gorgeous Lila who is nearly 2.  She proved such a wonderful model & I can't wait to steal her again another day!

This new dress is made from super soft, ivory lace with a smooth, chiffon lining. Love the dotted sleeves & frills too.  I think it would make a gorgeous dress for a flower girl, birthday or christening ... or just because you love to dress your kids in beautiful clothes!  Looks great with different coloured sashes too.

Contact me for orders :)

new floral dress!

i had fun with this little dress.  I was in a bit of a creating mood but didn't want to spend all day gazing at my fabric stash, trying to pick which material to use.  So, close the eyes, reach in & pull out this gorgeous shimmering chiffon fabric with delightful floral blooms.

Love how the shade of ribbon brings out the subtle blue leaf pattern behind the blooms.

Available at Little Kiwis Nest (for NZ) or Etsy (for rest of world) or simply email me at littleteetee@hotmail.com.

Thanks for stopping by!

the queens birthday long weekend!

and who wouldn't love an excuse for an extra day to spend with friends & family?!?

Can't say I'm obsessed with the royal family these days but I do remember being in awe of Princess Diana back when I was little.  I had loads of little books on her & would love visiting my great Aunt in Brisbane who had boxes & boxes of magazines with photos of Diana in them.  And then to be able to watch her wedding ... well, that just made my little world!

We let our 2 daughters stay up to watch the next installment of royal weddings - yep, Prince William & Kate - & I think they are now totally obsessed.  The squeals of delight can be heard across the country whenever they spy a magazine with the couple blazoned on the cover.  So cute to watch & reminisce.

So the Queens birthday weekend is approaching & all I can say is God Save the Queen ... & then share some really cute royal creations with you!

online stores

I can spend the day away just by looking through so many gorgeous online stores. It's no doubt obvious that I tend to LOVE handmade stores more than others just because I love to support people like me who are usually stay-at-home mums. Each designer has their own reason for making/selling their creations - for me it was a case of needing a creative outlet, as well as trying to earn a little extra money to put towards non-essentials (read here 'to support my cafe cravings'!).

My good friend Amy & I started a website in 2009 called Little Kiwis Nest which acts as a host for some very talented homebased/handmade designers. The majority of these sellers are Kiwis & are stay at home mums - & everyone of them makes incredible products for kids. Even though I have just moved back to Australia I've decided to reopen my little shop on Little Kiwis Nest so you can now get some of my goodies HERE.

I'm also trying to get my act together & open a store on Etsy which is an international website for handmade sellers. Wow, this site will have you hooked as well!  Bear with me while I find the time to fill my store there but here's the link for the future ... HERE.

There are loads of other great websites where you can source handmade goodies - eg http://www.madeit.com/, http://www.ozhandmade.com/  - so there really is no excuse not to find what you're looking for in one of these destinations!

christening gowns

Christenings / baby dedications (& the like) are such a momentous occasion & holds different significance for different families.   For us, the Dedication of our two girls was a way for us to thank God for our precious gifts & publicly let Him & our families know that we will do our best to bring them up in the Christian faith.

Anyway, this isn't meant to be about our personal beliefs but to share with you some gorgeous handmade Christening items & outfits I found on some of my favourite sites!  I've been wanting to sew a christening gown for some time & I finally got to cross it off my 'To Do' list (see main photo)!  Hopefully more to come in the not-too-distant future (after I manage a few other things off the old list!). Be sure to let me know if you'd like me to create something special for your little one!

To my fave finds now ...

If you do wish to know more about baby dedications please feel free to visit this link HERE.

sequins

bling bling & more bling!

Anyone who knows me knows I love sequins! Not that I flounce around in slinky sequined gowns, draped in rows of diamontes & topped with sparkly tiaras.  However ... I do love to sneak in my black sequined high-tops whenever I think I can get away with it! (Actually got stuck wearing them to a black-tie, corporate event by mistake last year when I packed two left boots & they were the only other packed shoes. It was fun looking at everyone's reactions!).

I digress ...

I'm in love/lust with these gorgeous handmade creations!  Now to find an excuse to walk around with a bling-bouquet!
